legislative representatives during the legislative session, to promote
the issues that were voted on during the annual conference each year.

Membership
Any full time peace officer from a
municipal police department or Iowa Department of Public Safety is
eligible for membership in the ISPA.
An annual fee of $25 for active members and $15 for retired
members, is all that is needed to become a part of Iowa's largest
association of law enforcement professionals.
Any municipal police department or
subunit of the Department of Public Safety may form a local association
and apply for recognition as such to the ISPA. Local associations with
three or more members may send delegates to the Iowa State Police Association's
Annual Conference.
All members that retire in good standing
may continue their membership in the ISPA for as long as they wish.
Retired members continue to enjoy the same benefits as active members.
