Richard Allen Cronk passed away on February 7, 2014 in Glenwood, Iowa.
Richard Allen Cronk born January 16, 1941, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Howard and Violet (Nissen) Cronk. Entered into rest on February 7, 2014 in Glenwood, Iowa.
Rich graduated high school in 1958 from Minden, Iowa. He married Mary Ausdemore on July 30, 1960. They were blessed with six children: Jean (Rick) Tamayo, Kelly (Monica) Cronk, Angela (Bill) Steitzer, Valerie (Ron) LaBreck, Sheryl (Jay) Witkowsky, and Britney (Sean) Cronk; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Howard (Louise) Cronk; sisters, Mary Veldhouse and Marilyn Reiken.
Rich was an accomplished welder for many years. He joined the Council Bluffs Police Department in 1970 and was one of the first school liaison officers in 1974. Rich then worked in the youth bureau until he retired.
He will be missed by his wife of 53 years, family, and a host of people who have been blessed with his friendship.
Family visitation was held Friday, February 7, 2014, at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., in Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment Garner Township Cemetery with a lunch following in the parish hall at Holy Family Church. The family will direct memorials.
