Bruce Lawrence Klingaman, 78 passed away on September 22 at Mercy Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Bruce Lawrence Klingaman, 78 passed away on September 22 at Mercy Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Bruce was born on June 4, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Bruce was an officer and Sargeant for the Des Moines Police Department for 26 years. He also served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Bruce was the owner of Blue Eagle Enterprises Gun Shop in West Des Moines. After retirement, Bruce lived in Apache Junction, Arizona for over 20 years. He enjoyed traveling across the United States with his wife Jo and he loved spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife Jo. His sons Roger Gustafson of West Des Moines, Rick (Teresa) Gustafson of Des Moines, and his daughter Cindy Latcham (Brian Pettiecord) of Des Moines. Bruce had 6 six grandchildren, Lindsey (Justin) Powers of Mitchellville, Erica Latcham (Ben Lee) of Des Moines, Tyler (Emily) Gustafson of Winterset, Kyle Gustafson and Emily Gustafson of Minnesota and Ben Stonehocker of West Des Moines. Bruce is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. Mason, Tanner and Olivia Powers of Mitchellville and Ella and Evie Gustafson of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Veva Klingaman and his brothers Marlin Klingaman and Dean Klingaman.



His wishes were to be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
