Grassley's question: What's the hold-up for fallen officers?

It's not often a U.S. senator has difficulty getting answers from the federal government, but that was Chuck Grassley's problem until last week.

As chairman of the Senate's Judiciary Committee, Grassley had been trying to find out why the Office of Justice Programs has moved so painfully slowly in paying benefits for Iowa law enforcement killed in the line of duty, his staff says.

Grassley raised the issue to Loretta Lynch, whose nomination for attorney general cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. But he knows Lynch isn't on the hook for more answers unless her nomination is confirmed.  Click here for the full article on The Des Moines Register
