Lyle Howard Ames, 71, of Theodosia, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 7, at Barnes Medical Center, St. Louis.
Lyle Howard Ames, 71, of Theodosia, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 7, at Barnes Medical Center, St. Louis.
He was born April 13, 1943, in Oelwein, son of Howard and Thelma Chapman Ames. He married Becky Ott 50 years ago.
Lyle graduated from Oelwein High School in 1960 and attended Upper Iowa University, Fayette. He retired from the Waterloo Police Department after 33 years and for the past 16 years has served as park attendant for the Army Corps of Engineers, Gamaliel, Ark.
Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Michelle (Mike) Harrell; a son, Mark (Anita); two granddaughters; and two brothers, Kelsey and Clair.
Memorial services: were held at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, Chesterfield, Mo.
