Woodward - Wendell Stream, age 89 of Woodward, IA passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at his home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Woodward United Methodist Church in Woodward. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry, IA. Memorials will be given to Woodward United Methodist Church or the Iowa State Patrol Supervisors' Association and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Wendell Ward Stream was born on May 10, 1928 at Des Moines, IA to Ward Robert and Florence Mae (Brown) Stream. He graduated from Churdan High School in 1945, attended Iowa State University in the late 40's and later in life he received an AA Degree from NIACC. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Joanne Harrison in August of 1956 and she passed away on June 11, 1959. He then was united in marriage to Donna Rae Lee at the Methodist Church in Perry, IA on March 12, 1961. He worked at the Iowa State Patrol for 29 years from 1953 to 1982, taught at the Law Enforcement Academy at Camp Dodge in Johnston, IA and taught Motor Vehicle Law at NIACC for several years. Following retirement, he was employed by Beacon Computer in Mason City, IA and did computer upkeep and repairs for various school districts. He farmed with his dad when needed.
He attended the Woodward United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Peace Officers Retirement and the Woodward American Legion.
In death he rejoins his parents, Ward and Florence Stream, first wife, Carolyn, parents-in-law, David and Vera Lee and Paul and Mildred Harrison.
Left to cherish Wendell's memory are his wife Donna Stream, son, Douglas Kyle (Debra) Stream, two daughters, JoLisa Lee (Shawn) Miles and Tresa Ann (Brad) Dietrich, grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Kyla Miles, and Anna and Emme Dietrich, sister Gwen (Jim) Wolter, brother-in-law, Larry (Helen), nieces and nephews, Jone (Terry) Johnson, Clint (Mel) McDonald, Chad (Marilee) McDonald and Kurt Harrison and several great nieces and nephews.
