In the early morning hours of Monday June 1, 2020 Davenport Police Department Sgt. Scott Lansing, Lt. Greg Behning and Detective Pat Sievert were working in an unmarked vehicle assisting with several shots fired incidents, rioting and looting of businesses.
Around 02:55 am the officers’ vehicle was ambushed and suddenly began taking simultaneous gunfire from the front and driver’s side of the vehicle. Sgt. Lansing was shot twice. One in the leg and one shot hit his left handed holster, striking the slide of his handgun making the handgun inoperable. Rounds also struck his headrest.
