WATERLOO -- Gerald E. Bisbey, 88, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, March 30.
He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Cedar Falls, son of Carl and Esther Hansen Bisbey. He married Mary Lou Laufer on Oct. 31, 1948, in Gladbrook.
Gerald graduated from Cedar Falls High School and had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps infantry during World War II. He had a career in law enforcement, retiring as Cedar Falls Police captain in 1982. He was a member of both First Methodist Church and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, both in Cedar Falls.
Survived by: his wife of Westbrook Acres, Gladbrook; two daughters, Connie (Mike) of Backus, Minn., and Amy (Ted) of Waterloo; two sons, Rick (Sharon) of Waterloo and Jack (Sue) of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: his parents, and a brother, Duane.
